DETECTIVES are investigating the theft of a large amount of money from a liquor store in Downtown.The money was discovered missing from Carib West in Old Airport Road at about 2.57am on Monday March 19.The cash had been placed in an office at 8am on Sunday morning.The money was takings from both the store and a bar belonging to the shop owner in Grace Bay.

A GROUP of youths are being sought by police after a car windshield was broken in Blue Hills.A motorist claims he was driving along the Millennium Highway just after 6pm on Friday, March 16, when he spotted youngsters throwing stones at passing vehicles. One of the stones hit the driver’s windshield causing it to crack.Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 911 or Crimestoppers on 1-800-8477. POLICE are searching for a thief who stole a steel saw from a building site in Provo. The tool, which belongs to the Complete Construction Company, went missing from Fortis TCI three months ago and was found on Friday for sale at a pawn shop. Meanwhile a Nikon S1800 camera, stolen from North West Point a fortnight ago, was also found at the same store. An investigation is now being carried out by officers.

TWO men are being questioned after a quantity of copper wire was stolen from the Dock Port Facility in South Dock.

POLICE arrested a man on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in connection following an incident in Provo on Saturday, March 17.

A 9mm pistol, 51 rounds of ammunition and three gun magazines were seized following a search of a property in Leeward Palms.

RENARDO Clarke was fined $2,500 after pleading guilty to the possession of cannabis when he appeared before Providenciales Magistrate Court on Friday. A sum of money found on him when arrested by police was confiscated and handed over to the State.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a property in Glass Shack.The break-in occurred sometime between 1am and 8am on Saturday, March 17. Items stolen include a purple Blackberry phone, a wallet containing $40, bank cards and a three-piece aluminium ladder. THIEVES made off with more than $3,500 worth of items following a break-in at a house in Palms Circle, Leeward Palms.Items taken included an i-pod, jewellery, a digital camera, DVDs and a USA passport. The incident happened between 10.15am and 7.10pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile another property in Palms Circle was also entered and ransacked during Saturday afternoon.

A WHITE 40 feet container with more than $40,000 worth of yellow building scuttling material has been stolen from Leeward. The container, which was located at the Ashcroft School, was reported missing on Friday March 16.Anyone who spots the container, or who is offered yellow scuttling for sale, is asked

POLICE arrested a man for the offence of malicious injury to property.

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision near Beaches Roundabout on the Leeward Highway, just after 10am on Saturday March 17.

A WALLET containing a large sum of cash was stolen from a room at the Osprey Beach Hotel in Grand Turk.The incident happened between 1.20pm and 4.20pm on Sunday, March 18. The wallet also contained credit cards, fuel cards, a driver’s licence and other personal effects.

POLICE arrested a man on suspicion of disorderly conduct on liquor license premises after being called to deal with a disturbance at the Blue Bar in Hospital Road on Saturday night.

POLICE are hunting a man who broke into a house in Grand Turk and assaulted a 15-year-old girl.The teenager was asleep in bed when the intruder burst through her locked bedroom door at the property in Old Airport Road at about 3.40am on Saturday, March 17. The man is described as 6ft 5in tall, dark skinned, slim, wearing a white T-shirt and grey jogging pants. Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 911 or Crimestoppers on 1-800-8477. A SOUND system was stolen from the trunk of a car between 10.15am and 10.28am on Saturday. The vehicle, a white Toyota, was parked outside the owner’s home in Palm Grove when the theft took place. Items taken include a Pioneer base speaker box and a Power Q Stick Amplifier.
