The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) has charged two individuals in separate incidents involving the submission of forged documents at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Providenciales.
SIMON NONMOMBRE, 42, of Kew Town, was charged on March 20 with UTTERING FORGED DOCUMENT.
He appeared in court today (24th March) and was granted $2000 bail. The matter was adjourned to May 02 for a Sufficiency Hearing.
Nommombre was arrested on 20 March after visiting the DMV in Butterfield Square, Providenciales, to register a vehicle. While processing his application, DMV staff allegedly identified discrepancies in the driver’s license receipt he submitted. The police were alerted, and the suspect was charged following an investigation.
FRITZNEL VALMYR, 33, of The Bight, was charged on March 20 with UTTERING FORGED DOCUMENT.
The accused was arrested on 12 March following investigations. He appeared in court today and was granted $2000 bail with one surety. Valmyr was ordered to surrender his travel documents to the Clerk of Court and report to the Chalk Sound Police Station on a specified day and time. The matter was adjourned to May 02.
On 11 March, Valmyr visited the DMV at Butterfield Square to register a vehicle. During the transaction, DMV staff allegedly detected inconsistencies in the driver’s license receipt submitted as part of the required documents. Offices were contacted, and an investigation ensued.
The RT&CIPF reminds the public that submitting forged documents is a serious offence. Individuals engaging in such activities will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. We urge individuals to ensure that all documents submitted for official purposes are legitimate.
