Detectives of the Serious Crimes Unit investigating the murder of 39-year-old Mathew Florez that took place in the vicinity of the Thomas Stubbs roundabout along the Leeward Highway, have made tremendous progress in the case and have charged two men on Tuesday, November 17th, 2020.
24-year-old Shaquant Walkin and 22-year-old Myrohn Pereira were both charged with the Offences of Murder, Discharging Firearm, Discharging Ammunition, Possession of Firearm with intent to endanger life and Carrying Firearm.
Police were dispatched around 11:19 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 to a report of a shooting incident which led to the death of Mr Florez.
Walkin and Pereira are due to appear in Court this week.
Commissioner of Police Trevor Botting said, “Once again, this is excellent work by investigators from the Serious Crimes Unit. While we have charged two men, we still need the public for any relevant information they may have. If you can help our investigation, we are asking that you please come forward”.
