The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force recognizes that it is unacceptable for children and vulnerable persons to experience any kind of abuse and recognizes its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and vulnerable persons by a commitment to practice which protects them hence in 2018 the Safeguarding and Public Protection unit was formed within the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force.
The Safeguarding and Public Protection unit has a team of specially trained officers who work collaboratively with other partner agencies and share an obligation for the protection of children, young adults and vulnerable adults living in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Our primarily role is to combat very serious issues such as all forms of abuse against children to include sexual exploitation and sexual and physical violence towards vulnerable people.
The team consist of 1 Assistant Superintendent of Police, one Inspector, one Sergeant, and 5 constables.
