Officers from the Royal Bahamas Police Force were sworn in today (September 05th), by Commissioner of Police (ag) Rodney Adams.
The ceremony took place at Police Headquarters, Airport Road, Providenciales, and was witnessed by Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, Acting Premier Hon. Erwin Jay Saunders, and the Attorney General Hon. Rhondalee Braithwaite-Knowles.
Commissioner of Police for the Royal Bahamas Police Force Clayton Fernander and his Executive witnessed the proceedings virtually.
The officers, who are trained in various speciality areas, will be deployed alongside the Tactical Unit of the RTCIPF.
Her Excellency Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam told the officers their commitment and sacrifice should be commended and recognised.
“Thank you for putting yourselves out there. We know how seriously you take this threat to the TCI and we are looking forward to your continued cooperation. There is a deep-seated respect and understanding of what we have to do together. I appreciate and respect the collaboration in moving forward. This is not something we are taking lightly, we know what you are putting on the line.”
Commissioner Fernander in his brief remarks, said the team sent to assist the RTCIPF is “very professional in what they do…and whatever training we can give to assist, know that we are here..”
Commissioner (ag) Adams said: “The RTCIPF is fortunate to have the RBPF as partners within law enforcement and I am thankful for the speedy assistance rendered.”
Assistant Commissioners of Police Kendall Grant and Darron Williams, Superintendents of
Police Willet Harvey and Mat Newton, and Assistant Superintendent Drexel Porter were also in attendance.
