Speaking at the graduation ceremony Deputy Commissioner of Police Rodney Adams said:

“The training over the last two weeks is an indication that we understand the importance of proactive policing versus reactive policing. As a police service, we must demonstrate by way of our policing style -namely the model of  “PIER”- that we understand Preventative and Intervention measures which are critical to the business together with Enforcement and Rehabilitation.

“Our decision not to cancel this training despite the many policing activities currently taking place clearly illustrates our commitment to becoming a more proactive police service within the TCI.

Deputy Adams added, “The 17 of you will return to your respective Divisions. You now have a responsibility to discharge your duties with Trust, Commitment and Integrity. You will be dealing with young people across the communities and in the schools. Please take your responsibilities seriously and remember to ensure that your actions will firstly make you proud, the force proud and by extension the Turks and Caicos Islands.

“You are now entrusted with an awe-inspiring task, and I urge you to continue working hard. All the best and do well, all the best, and do well”.

Additionally, DCP Adams thanked the instructors and the training team led by Mrs. Odessa Forbes, whom he described as being committed and willingly stepping up to the plate.
