Officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (Traffic Enforcement Unit), along with the Immigration Department, conducted road traffic operations in Five Cays and along  Leeward Highway, Providenciales, on August 06th,2024. 

Thirty-two (32) traffic checks were conducted, and twenty (20) tickets were issued to motorists for various traffic infractions. Three motorists received a warning of intended prosecution. 

Additionally, THIRTEEN (13) males were detained for Immigration purposes. 

The RTCIPF has undertaken a zero-tolerance approach against traffic violators to ensure road safety for all.  

Drivers are asked to comply with road traffic regulations to avoid being fined. 

The RTCIPF wishes to remind motorists that vehicle windows must have the following  minimum levels of visible light transmittance:  

Front windscreen: No lower than 50 per cent for each front window; Driver and Passenger side windows: No, lower than 50 per cent;  Rear Windows and Windscreen: Not lower than 30 per cent.  

Tints on the Front Windscreen MUST be no more than six inches from the top down and have a  50% light Transmission. 

Once your vehicle’s tint does not meet these requirements, you commit a traffic violation under the Road Traffic Ordinance and will be fined TWO HUNDRED and FIFTY DOLLARS (250.00)  PER WINDOW.
