 At approximately 10:43 PM yesterday (July 02nd), officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos  Islands Police Force received reports of gunshots in Millennium Heights, Blue Hills.  

Officers responded to the given location and were shown the lifeless body of a male victim. 

Head of Crime, Safeguarding, Public Protection and Intelligence Superintendent Dean Holden said, based on preliminary investigations, “Five males dressed in black attempted to rob a female who had just returned home. 

“The female raised an alarm. A male relative, upon hearing the screams, rushed outside to assist and was shot by the criminals, who ran off. An All Points Bulletin was issued, and officers responded. The deceased victim has been identified as Louise Beliare. The RT&CIPF wishes to extend condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. We are working diligently to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice. I urge the public to pay attention and share our  Wanted Posters. 

“The RT&CIPF remains committed to eradicating the use of illegal firearms on the island. If you see something, say something. Together, we can make a difference.” 

The RT&CIPF is asking anyone with information that may help in this investigation to contact the closest police station, 911, the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 8477 to provide any information anonymously.
