Community Policing
Who We Are
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (Community Policing Unit) plans and executes community outreach programmes.
Under community policing, police officers form a partnership with persons in various districts of the TCI and various stakeholders.
The RTCIPF uses a Citizen Focus style of policing. Put simply, we aim to understand people and how our services are accessed to better service members of the public.
What We Do.
We work in partnership with Government Agencies, the Private Sector, Schools, Religious Institutions, and Educational Establishments as well as with the Citizens of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
- Arrange and preside over Town Hall Meetings
- Plan and develop educational and crime prevention programmes
- Represent the Force at social and community engagements
We recognize that working with our many partners will help to ensure that we create safer places and reduce the fear of crime.
To respond to the issues within communities, we will redeploy our resources to meet demand, particularly in places with many problems or to address particular crime types such as burglary, robbery, and anti-social behaviour.
