Acting Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey visited South Caicos yesterday (March 19), where he paid courtesy visits to District Commissioner Yvette Cox, representatives of the South Caicos Pastors Fraternity, and other stakeholders.
The Acting Commissioner also engaged with South Caicos Member of Parliament Tamell Seymour and other community representatives to discuss collaborative approaches to public safety and community development. He emphasized the importance of strong partnerships between the police and residents to ensure a safer environment.
One main issue raised was the need for additional officers to strengthen security efforts on the island, given its rapid development.
Commissioner Bailey also visited the Iris Stubbs Primary School, where he spoke to students about the value of hard work and perseverance. Encouraging them to “reach for the stars,” he reminded the young minds that among them could be future doctors, lawyers, pastors, and even a Commissioner of Police. Principal Earleen Elliot thanked the Commissioner for his inspiring words, highlighting the importance of positive role models for the island’s youth.
Additionally, Commissioner Bailey met with officers stationed on the island, listening to their concerns and reaffirming his commitment to enhancing law enforcement operations in the community. .
