Accused human trafficking duo, OREN WALKIN and Maria PINEDA DE WALKIN were granted bail when they appeared before a Magistrate today (25 March). 

WALKIN (O), 50, of South Dock Road, Providenciales, was granted bail in the sum of $50,000  with one surety.  

Bail conditions include:  

1) Surrender all travel documents;  

2) Do not travel outside of TCI without seeking the court’s permission at least 24 hours in advance for a bail variation.  

3) Report to the specified Police Station on the specified days and times;  

4) Reside at the specified location;  

5) Inform the court of any change in their home address; and  

6) No contact should be made with the victims, whether by themselves, their servants, or agents acting on their behalf. 

PINEDA DE WALKIN, 45, was also granted $50,000 bail with the same conditions.  The matter was adjourned to May 2, 2025, for a Sufficiency Hearing. 

WALKIN (O) is charged with eight (8) counts of Trafficking in Persons and one (1) count of keeping a Brothel Used for Prostitution. He was arrested on October 11, 2024. PINEDA DE WALKIN faces eight (8) counts of Trafficking in Persons, six (6) counts of  Controlling Prostitution for Gain and one (1) count of Keeping a Brothel Used for Prostitution and was arrested on 20 March 2025 by officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Serious  Crimes Unit.
