The Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred after 2:00 PM today along Leeward Highway in the vicinity of Courtyard Plaza.
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident involved two vehicles. Tragically, a female victim succumbed to injuries, while another victim was transported to a medical facility for urgent care.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Dwight Gardiner said, “The westbound lane remains open and unaffected, while the eastbound lane is now unobstructed. However, traffic in the eastbound lane will remain congested for the time being. This is due to our officers conducting forensics at the scene. We ask the public for their patience and understanding as our officers work diligently at the scene. Drivers are encouraged to consider alternate routes where possible.”
