Three separate multi-agency operations involving several units of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force and the Immigration Department took place on October 17th and 19th in Providenciales.
These strategic operations focused primarily on the ENFORCEMENT of ROAD SAFETY and IMMIGRATION REGULATIONS.
The policing operations involved stop and search, license and insurance checks, and searching people’s homes.
The first operation commenced at 5:30 a.m. near the First Caribbean International Bank roundabout on October 17th.



EIGHTY (80) traffic checks were conducted; FIFTEEN (15) illegal immigrants were detained; TWENTY-EIGHT (28) traffic tickets were issued; FIFTEEN (15) tint removals, ONE (1) vehicle was towed and ONE (1) individual warned of intended prosecution.
The second intelligence-led operation commenced around 2.30 p.m. (October 17th) in the vicinity of The Bight. This operation was aimed at disrupting organized criminality and developing intelligence for future operational activity.
Taking part in the Operations were the Tactical Unit, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Immigration Unit, and the Drone Unit. In the third operation which occurred on October 19th, 2023, and was undertaken by the Traffic Enforcement Unit, a total of THIRTY-SIX (36) traffic checks were conducted THIRTY-TWO (32) tickets issued, TWENTY-THREE (23) tint removals, ONE (1) vehicle was towed, TWO (2) persons were warned of intended prosecution for driving a motor vehicle without insurance and FIFTEEN (15) persons detained.
