Officers of the Serious Crimes Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force located on Grand Turk are investigating the Country’s latest murder on Thursday, October 29, 2020.
Reports are that around 9:58 p.m., Police and Medical Officials were dispatched to an area behind a bar located along Pond street where gunshots were heard.
A man was found on the ground and unresponsive with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Acting Commissioner of Police Mr. Rodney Adams said, “Heartfelt condolences to the family of the young man shot this evening. The senseless loss of life to gun crime is unacceptable and cannot be the new normal- especially for a small island like Grand Turk. It is unclear how the shooting unfolded, but while the investigating officers try to determine the circumstances of this incident, we are appealing to anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
