In keeping with TCIG’s guidelines through the Ministry of Health, The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police have established a COVID 19 Gold Group that includes The Force Executive and Heads of Departments. The Group, chaired by the Commissioner of Police recently met on Monday, March 16th, 2020 to review policies and to implement certain precautionary measures in light of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Commissioner of Police, Trevor Botting said, “While we continue to finalize our plans to continue to meet public safety needs in light of COVID 19, as it stands now, it is business as usual for the RTCIPF. We are preparing for the worst-case scenario- in the event, a significant number of Officers contracts the virus and staffing levels are affected. But nothing is really changing for the public. We will continue to keep the public informed with relevant information on any new policy changes in this regard. I would like to thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding.”
The COVID 19 Gold Group will continue to meet on a weekly basis in an effort to provide the highest standard of service to the Public. We want to remind the public to continue to follow all guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health.
