The 8 recruit constables, namely Jherry Seide, Sinartra Handfield, Janefer Stubbs, Marc Kendy Charles, Shavern Ingham, Stanley Been, Isaac Isreal and Marvin Rolle have returned home today, Saturday, May 9, 2020, after completing almost six months of studying a Police Training Certification Program which was jointly designed by the Regional Police Training Centre in Barbados and the Barbados Community College.
The Recruit Constables who have returned to the Turks and Caicos Islands two weeks ahead of schedule will finalize their studies on Providenciales.
Commissioner of Police, Trevor Botting said, “We are proud to have these Officers back home. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to bring them home two weeks earlier. Staff development will always be important to us and we are looking forward to having these Officers in the field once they have completed the remainder of their course, which will be facilitated by our Training Department and the Regional Police Training Centre. The final stages of the course will take approximately one week to complete. Certificates of Completion will be issued by the Regional Police Training Centre in Barbados and a passing out Ceremony will take place in the TCI to be arranged at a later date”.
Commissioner Botting added, “I would also like to congratulate this batch of recruits constables for their tremendous work throughout the Program. They have done extremely well representing the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force and the Turks and Caicos at large. I would also like to also congratulate Sergeant Kevin Clarke who was the local instructor assigned to our recruits in Barbados. Thank you, for your dedication to this program and the sacrifices you have made.
The Recruit Constables and Sergeant Kevin Clark arrived today at 3:10 p.m. onboard a United Kingdom Military Aircraft and was immediately placed into quarantine for 14 days. The final stages of the training will commence post quarantine.
