This training comes on the heels of funding by the Turks and Caicos Islands Government for an additional 20 Officers, and the addition of four new Police Recruit and eight District Constables who are currently at the
orientation stages. Commissioner Botting said Recruitment and training is a strategic priority for the Executive Team. He added, “Investing in those who are willing to put the public first and keeping the Turks and Caicos Islands safe has been a priority since my appointment to Commissioner, as I am trying to create a workforce that is open to new ideas and techniques where we embrace intelligence and evidence-based approaches to solving
crimes”.
The group who left the island on October 18th, 2019 will complete their training in May 2020 and return to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force to take up duties.
